Honesty is an often overlooked component of design. But not by us. We know that everyone looking for a wooden house believes in the reciprocity of nature and desires to further their comfort and well-being while contributing to a greener future. Simplicity is thus design efficiency. And efficiency is always nature’s most honest remark.

Our story, so far.

Kōzōwood Industries SA, previously named Black Oak Company (established in 2015 by Nuno Vale and Isabel Afonso), specializes in sustainable wood construction, particularly within the luxury residential sector. Driven by a passion for construction methods and sustainable impact, they chose to apply their extensive experience in architecture and construction in this sector.

The pioneering project, Ooty, began by offering tourist modules and later expanded to wooden modular homes. As the organization grew, there was an evolution in the business model and corporate structure, culminating in the creation of the Kōzōwood brand, specializing in wooden architectural projects. The entry of new partners propelled the continuous growth of the company, resulting in improvements in quality and, ultimately, mastery of production and construction processes.

Currently, the management of Kōzōwood Industries is led by Nuno Vale, the CEO of the company, and José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties. Kōzōwood Industries recognizes wood as the best option for construction and for the planet, highlighting its superior material and mechanical properties.

Every day, we take pride in seeing our teams develop and oversee wood construction processes, aware that innovation guides us all.
